The face is tricky to read. Is it acceptance, resignation, resentment, disappointment, exhaustion, surrender ... or a melange of the above? Or is it something else entirely? In any event, as always, it is beautifully rendered.
This works,too. It works in a different way than most of the other panels, because there is no narrative in the image itself. The eyes of our hero had to be closed for this one, and we understand that we are reading his mind, quite literally. This really works in tandem with the previous panel, with its profusion of objects and two people, Daniel and his uncle.
